This week is Maori Language week. Ahakoa iti, ākona, kōrerotia - Learn a little, use a little. In Manuka we will be reviewing numbers, colours, labels for classroom items and greetings. We will also be learning how to ask and answer simple questions about these. Here are some words to help you get started.
Ae (Yes) Kao (No) Ka pai. (It is good / Well done.) Tino pai (Very good/ Very well done.) Ka tika. (That’s right.)
Hāere mai ki konei. (Come here.) Hāere atu. (Go away.) Hāere ki waho. (Go outside.)
Hāere rā. (Good Bye [to those leaving]) E noho rā. (Good bye [to those staying]) Kōrero mai (Talk to me/ us)
Haria mai (Bring it here) Kia tere (Hurry up) Taihoa (Wait)
